We are seeking a compassionate and qualified Mental Health Counselor to join our team at Adversity Academy. The Mental Health Counselor will provide counseling and therapy services to individuals seeking support for various mental health concerns, helping them overcome challenges and improve their overall well-being.

Mental Health Counselor

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients’ mental health concerns, strengths, and treatment needs.
  2. Provide individual, couples, family, and group counseling sessions to address a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties.
  3. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, incorporating evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions.
  4. Monitor clients’ progress throughout the counseling process, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure effectiveness and client satisfaction.
  5. Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including session notes, treatment plans, and progress reports, in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
  6. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to coordinate care and support clients’ holistic well-being.
  7. Participate in regular supervision, consultation, and professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  8. Provide crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute mental health crises or emergencies.

Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
  2. Licensed or license-eligible as a mental health counselor, marriage and family therapist, or clinical social worker in the state of practice.
  3. Demonstrated experience providing counseling or therapy services to individuals with diverse backgrounds and presenting concerns.
  4. Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships with clients.
  6. Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.

Education:

Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field. Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a mental health counselor, marriage and family therapist, or clinical social worker in the state of practice.
