Adversity Academy is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance & Accounting Analyst to join our team. The Finance & Accounting Analyst will play a key role in supporting financial operations and decision-making within the organization.

Finance & Accounting Analyst

Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, reports, and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct financial analysis and variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare and maintain detailed financial models, budgets, and projections to support financial planning and budgeting processes.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, marketing, and sales, to gather financial data and insights for business performance evaluation.
- Support the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
- Assist with external audits and regulatory compliance activities, providing documentation and support as needed.
- Stay updated on industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory changes, and assess their potential impact on the organization’s financial operations.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support to senior management and other stakeholders as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. CPA or CFA certification is preferred but not required.
- Proven experience in financial analysis, accounting, or related roles, preferably in a corporate or institutional setting.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques, as well as financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., MBA, CPA, CFA) are advantageous but not mandatory.
