Adversity Academy is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance & Accounting Analyst to join our team. The Finance & Accounting Analyst will play a key role in supporting financial operations and decision-making within the organization.

Finance & Accounting Analyst

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, reports, and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  2. Conduct financial analysis and variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
  3. Prepare and maintain detailed financial models, budgets, and projections to support financial planning and budgeting processes.
  4. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, marketing, and sales, to gather financial data and insights for business performance evaluation.
  6. Support the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  7. Assist with external audits and regulatory compliance activities, providing documentation and support as needed.
  8. Stay updated on industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory changes, and assess their potential impact on the organization’s financial operations.
  9. Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support to senior management and other stakeholders as required.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. CPA or CFA certification is preferred but not required.
  2. Proven experience in financial analysis, accounting, or related roles, preferably in a corporate or institutional setting.
  3. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights.
  4. Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques, as well as financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems).
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  6. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., MBA, CPA, CFA) are advantageous but not mandatory.
