Adversity Academy is seeking a talented and motivated Grant Writing Associate to join our team. The Grant Writing Associate will play a crucial role in securing funding opportunities through the development and submission of grant proposals to support our organization’s programs and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Research and identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other funding sources aligned with Adversity Academy’s mission and priorities.
  2. Develop compelling grant proposals, grant applications, and letters of inquiry to secure funding for various programs and projects.
  3. Collaborate with program managers and subject matter experts to gather information and data necessary for grant proposal development.
  4. Write clear, concise, and persuasive narratives that effectively communicate Adversity Academy’s mission, goals, and impact to potential funders.
  5. Coordinate the preparation and submission of grant proposals, ensuring adherence to submission deadlines and requirements.
  6. Maintain accurate records of grant submissions, outcomes, and reporting requirements, and track progress towards fundraising goals.
  7. Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with grant-making organizations, donors, and stakeholders through regular communication and stewardship activities.
  8. Monitor grant-funded programs and projects, working closely with program staff to ensure compliance with grant terms and reporting requirements.
  9. Conduct prospect research and analysis to identify new funding opportunities and potential donors to support Adversity Academy’s strategic initiatives.
  10. Stay updated on best practices in grant writing, fundraising, and nonprofit management, and share knowledge and insights with colleagues to enhance organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certification in grant writing or fundraising is preferred.
  2. Proven experience in grant writing, fundraising, or development roles, preferably in a nonprofit or educational setting.
  3. Excellent writing skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives, proposals, and reports that effectively communicate the organization’s mission and impact.
  4. Strong research and analytical abilities, with the capacity to gather and synthesize information from diverse sources to support grant proposal development.
  5. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience using grant management software or databases is desirable.
  7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage effectively with external stakeholders.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in grant writing or fundraising are advantageous.
