Adversity Academy is seeking a talented and motivated Grant Writing Associate to join our team. The Grant Writing Associate will play a crucial role in securing funding opportunities through the development and submission of grant proposals to support our organization’s programs and initiatives.

Responsibilities:
- Research and identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other funding sources aligned with Adversity Academy’s mission and priorities.
- Develop compelling grant proposals, grant applications, and letters of inquiry to secure funding for various programs and projects.
- Collaborate with program managers and subject matter experts to gather information and data necessary for grant proposal development.
- Write clear, concise, and persuasive narratives that effectively communicate Adversity Academy’s mission, goals, and impact to potential funders.
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of grant proposals, ensuring adherence to submission deadlines and requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of grant submissions, outcomes, and reporting requirements, and track progress towards fundraising goals.
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with grant-making organizations, donors, and stakeholders through regular communication and stewardship activities.
- Monitor grant-funded programs and projects, working closely with program staff to ensure compliance with grant terms and reporting requirements.
- Conduct prospect research and analysis to identify new funding opportunities and potential donors to support Adversity Academy’s strategic initiatives.
- Stay updated on best practices in grant writing, fundraising, and nonprofit management, and share knowledge and insights with colleagues to enhance organizational effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certification in grant writing or fundraising is preferred.
- Proven experience in grant writing, fundraising, or development roles, preferably in a nonprofit or educational setting.
- Excellent writing skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives, proposals, and reports that effectively communicate the organization’s mission and impact.
- Strong research and analytical abilities, with the capacity to gather and synthesize information from diverse sources to support grant proposal development.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience using grant management software or databases is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage effectively with external stakeholders.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in grant writing or fundraising are advantageous.
